MPLS (5 days)

Synopsis

MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) is a mechanism that forwards traffic based on labels instead of IP headers. This workshop will provide an overview of MPLS architecture, VPN service models, traffic engineering and implementation techniques, through a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises.

Target audience

Technical staff who are building or operating a service provider or enterprise network with international and/or multi-provider connectivity, involved in day to day network operations and engaged in providing customers solutions pre and post sales.

Prerequisites

It is assumed that participants have good understanding of following:

  • How IP Routing works 
    • IGP (IS-IS/OSPF) & BGP
  • Basic understanding of IPv6 protocol
  • VPN concepts
  • Router architecture (control plane and data plane)
  • Familiar with router command line interface

Other requirements

Participants are advised to bring their own laptop computers with high-speed Wi-Fi (802.11a/g/n/ac) and administrative access to system. It is also recommended that laptops have Intel i5 or i7 processor, >=8GB of RAM and 30GB of free hard disk space.

40 participants per workshop.
