DNS translates names to IP addresses, a required process for web navigation, email delivery, and other Internet functions. This course covers the essential concepts to help you understand how DNS works, as well as practical DNS server setup guide to manage your domains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Target audience<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This course is designed for systems engineers and administrators who will be managing their DNS infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is assumed that the workshop participants have working knowledge of network fundamentals, along with knowledge on how to use a linux command line interface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The lab exercises use Ubuntu VMs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend the following Academy courses be completed before the start of the tutorial:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Routing Fundamentals: <a href=\"https:\/\/academy.apnic.net\/en\/course\/routing-fundamentals-course\/\">https:\/\/academy.apnic.net\/en\/course\/routing-fundamentals-course\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Virtual lab for Linux Basics &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/academy.apnic.net\/en\/virtual-labs?labId=87395\">https:\/\/academy.apnic.net\/en\/virtual-labs?labId=87395<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other requirements<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Online<\/strong> &#8211; Participants are advised to bring their own laptop or desktop computers with high-speed internet access and administrative access to system. It is also recommended that computers have Intel i5 or i7 processor, &gt;=8GB of RAM and 30GB of free hard disk space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Face to face<\/strong> &#8211; Participants are advised to bring their own laptop computers with high-speed Wi-Fi (802.11a\/g\/n\/ac) and administrative access to system. It is also recommended that laptops have Intel i5 or i7 processor, &gt;=8GB of RAM and 30GB of free hard disk space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Software: SSH Client, Telnet Client, VirtualBox\/VMware<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm Secure SHell (SSH) is allowed from the office or home network to access the lab infrastructure? Test ssh connectivity, try to connect to <a href=\"http:\/\/route-views.routeviews.org\">route-views.routeviews.org<\/a>.
