[OPTIONAL] Segment Routing (3 days)

Synopsis

The core of this training revolves around Segment Routing, providing practical insights into its
principles and applications. Through dedicated Segment Routing lab exercises, participants will have the chance to put theory into practice.

This Workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of Segment Routing (SR), one of the key elements/technologies in the SDN framework, along with hands-on labs.

Target audience

Anyone currently operating an IP and/or Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network who is interested in Segment Routing with a view to implement it in the near future.

Prerequisites

To ensure maximum benefit from the training, we recommend that participants come with a solid understanding of routing concepts and experience with dynamic routing protocols, such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

In addition, a good understanding of MPLS and MPLS services is also essential, as it provides the foundation for comprehending how services are delivered and managed in SR-enabled networks.

We recommend the following Academy courses and labs be completed before the start of the Workshop:

Other requirements

Participants are advised to bring their own laptop to do the Lab exercise.

Attendees must have an APNIC Academy login account. If you don’t have one already, you can create an account for free at APNIC Academy website.

Please test the speed of your Internet connection to the servers where the Virtual Machines (VMs) are hosted at the Learn on Demand data centres, using the speed test tool at Skillable.

Maximum number of attendees

36 participants per workshop.

Please note

Certificate of participation is provided upon successful completion of the course.
