Open Tutorial: Peering, IXP and Routing (0.5 days)

Synopsis

This is a high-level tutorial that aims to provide important concepts on Internet routing, BGP and peering. The session includes discussions on obtaining IP addresses and AS numbers, the benefit of peering and the value of connecting to an Internet Exchange Point (IXP) to keep traffic local.

Target audience

This course is designed for network managers and operators who wish to understand Internet Routing, BGP and peering. Those who plan to establish direct peering or connect to an IXPs will benefit from this tutorial.

Prerequisites

It is assumed that the participants have some knowledge and understanding of IP Routing.
